Procrastination: Easy Action step for change

Yesterday we were talking about taking an action to move you past procrastination: We are combining things we do at the Anxiety Control Center, with information Jacob Krueger has kindly allowed us to reprint.

Today will be a two part post.  Action Step 2 will be out to you this afternoon.

ACTION STEP 1: Did you go out and buy yourself a journal?  Something that speaks to your personality, and makes you feel good.  If you did congratulations, you have taken the 1st action step and you will succeed. You are already on the path with this step.  And the step by step method you will learn is all simple, doable, achievable steps.

If you have your journal: Your next Action step will be out to you in this afternoon post.

For those of you who like to read everything and for those who didn’t take action step 1.  Let’s just move on and recognize that today is a new day and you can do it today.

But first, ask yourself: What got in your way?   What did you say to yourself?  Get a piece of paper or start a page in your computer and write down the excuses and reasons you gave yourself.  They will come in handy when we are working on other things you procrastinate about.  So, get a pen, that correct right now write down your reasons.  By taking any action you are moving closer to the next step.

Take just one minute out of your busy day, to start changing your life.  We really want  you to succeed.  So to begin to help yourself move past this really discouraging habit. your action step is to send us your reasons for not having your journal in front of you now.  You still get credit if you just write them down for yourself.

If you did get your journal, but first procrastinated about it write down how you first stopped yourself, and then how you got yourself to actually taking the step to purchasing the journal.  We would like to hear about these thoughts as well send them to Audrey’s email by clicking here. We will be using these thoughts to create a plan to shorten the time from inaction to action.

This journal is a valuable tool you will be using every day.   Remember this is an investment in yourself.

Please take an action step today.  By doing it you have already told your unconscious that you are serious in your commitment to making procrastination a thing of the past.  And today, no matter what you do, take a moment and get this journal, notebook or whatever you decide you would like to use.

Then tomorrow morning you will be back on board ready for action step 2.   Just think about taking one action step at a time, go get your journal today.
